Lesley Myers is an experienced industry professional with a passion for supporting emerging filmmakers. Lesley serves as a FAN Board member and is theCo-Director of the Eye2Eye Film Festival.

VFX Talk with CHAD NIXON

February 12, 2024

Chad Nixon was inspired by the revolutionary VFX of Terminator 2 to study computer animation. This ignited a career working as a VFX Artist, VFX Producer and Executive Producer. Chad’s Selected Credits include: Happy Feet, Terminator Genisys, The Greatest Showman, Blade Runner 2049, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Rocketman, Lord of The Rings S1 & 2, The Witcher S2 & 3, Shang- Chi & the Legend of the 10 Rings, Better Call Saul and The Marvellous Mrs Maisel.

Cobourg Collegiate Institute

Speaking to a packed auditorium Chad explained the different roles of the VFX pipeline and the creative and technical skills needed when creating incredible characters, environments, action sequences and whole new worlds.

Note: Chad also gave talks to classes at TCS, Bowmanville HS and East Northumberland SS in Brighton.

Special Effects Makeup Demo

FAN kicked off the Halloween season with a day of REEL CREATURES alongside filmmaker and special effects makeup artist Randy Daudlin. Randy unveiled his expertise crafting astounding makeup effects during a live demo at Cobourg’s ComiCon.

Rounding off the day, FAN screened Randy’s creature-feature BOTTOM FEEDER starring Tom Sizemore. After the screening, there was a curated discussion with Randy sharing the real behind-the-scenes realities writing & directing horror films on a shoestring budget.

Santa Claus Parade, Cobourg
